Day 95: Home Away from Home
Happy Monday and Day 95 of Another 100 Days of Hannah, y’all!
I know, I know.. what’s up with all these late posts, Hannah?
I’ve been exceptionally lazy, distracted.. whatever you want to call it the last several mornings, and so, evening posts it is!
In any case, is anyone else amazed at how long it takes to actually pack up for a week long trip??
It always sort of blows my mind.
Like today, for instance. I started packing for this travel week pretty decent time this morning, and still didn’t finish until like 3:30 when I had to leave for PT!
Granted, I didn’t consistently pack, and I knew that there were some things (ice, food, etc) that couldn’t really be packed until it was about time to leave.
Nevertheless, it felt crazy that most of my day could be summed up with packing.
But, we, I, made it.
And I survived PT and the 3 hour drive across the state, and made it to my home away from home for the week.
Admittedly, it feels good to be ‘home.’
Like, real good.
(Hopefully that feeling continues, unlike last travel week..)
My place for the week is cozy - two bedrooms, one bath, full kitchen, washer and dryer, nice living room.
And, while I don’t have a lakeside view this time, I do have a fenced in patio plus a garage.
I’ll call those wins.
This time, I’m actually staying in a different time zone (which I didn’t realize until I started driving this late afternoon/early evening), which means that I’ll be living in the correct time zone for my facility two days, and losing an hour the other two.
We’ll see how that works.
As a whole though, I’m excited.
I’m excited to be ‘home’.
I’m excited to have space to workout in the mornings and evenings
I’m excited for charting in the sun on the patio.
I’m excited for the opportunity to make my own food, rather than relying on restaurants for every meal.
I’m excited for a garage (hooray not having to carry most of my equipment in every night!)
I’m excited for this KING SIZE BED.
Which is all probably to say that sunny, warm, spring days are really good for my mental health.
Catch y’all tomorrow.
